Was making a left turn with a left turn street light green for me to turn across an intersection. Pickup stalled in the middle of the intersection and would not start. With the help of another person we manually pushed the pickup out of the intersection and onto another side street. I received an email at that exact time from General Motors showing a code of P129F which is the Fuel Pump Power Control Module. I am a [XXX] man stranded in 90 degree heat with no AC or shade to get under. My safety was put at risk in the above instance but more so if I had been entering IH 10 into traffic traveling 70MPH and my truck had just stopped running without any warning. This is a known problem as described in GM Service Bulletin 24-NA-139 with both the NHTSA and DOT. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

a week ago I was backing up and this truck is supposed to be equipped with a "REAR CROSS TRAFFIC BRAKINGF – When in Reverse, the system warns of detected cross-traffic approaching in either direction and provides alerts and hard emergency braking to help reduce the severity or help avoid collisions at very low speeds", I backed into another vehicle that was parked behind me. I did not receive any warnings and the automatic braking did not activate. I was fortunate that I was going slow and only damaged the other drivers door and my tailgate and bumper.

Truck will hard shift and bang into gear while driving. This usually happens when slowing then starting up again. happens at all speeds on highway, so hard it lunges me forward. condition getting worse. random times my windshield wipers will just come on ( I do not have rain sensors) the switch is in the off position and wipers will just come on and I have to turn them on then turn them off to get them to stop.

Steering

Owner-submitted NHTSA complaint · ODI 11753515

When driving normally OR pulling a camper (same day), power steering seems to "stick" as I exit either a moderate RH or LH corner. I must apply extra effort to the steering wheel to straighten out, and that invariably leads to an over-correction and departure into either the shoulder or the opposite lane. Problem is not sensitive to speed or weather conditions. The symptoms are not necessarily worse when pulling a camper, but the consequences are much more drastic and losing control of the vehicle feels much more imminent than when driving just the truck. Because the problem comes and goes so quickly, I can be applying force to straighten the wheel when suddenly, no force is required and the truck veers either left or right. I see no warning lights, nor do I see any messages displayed. I have not yet had the opportunity to get the truck to a mechanic. I'm not confident that I can safely drive to a repair facility, as the steering is so unpredictable.

Hard shifting, Shuddering, clunking sound when shifting between drive and reverse. Was informed by Ken Ganley Chevy in Brookpark , Ohio that the valve body inside the 8speed transmission is faulty and is on a nationwide backorder.

The left front turn signal becomes inoperable at times. The foreword collision indicator warning will come on unprovoked at times. Both conditions correct when you cycle the ignition switch. I consider the turn signal problem a safety issue because it happens with no warning and oncoming traffic may not know I am turning left or changing lanes. When the foreword indicator appears, I doubt the system is operable.

On June 27th 2026 at approximately 3am, I was driving my Chevy Silverado Trail Boss with 6.2 engine, it suffered a sudden catastrophic failure and it completely seized while in motion. There were no warning or signs given while vehicle was in motion. This resulted in an immediate highly dangerous loss of propulsion on a dark 2 lane road. The vehicle would not crank and had to be towed to Estero Bay Chevrolet.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, the 6.2L V8 (L87) engine in my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 seized and locked up completely, resulting in total loss of propulsion. I was driving at 65 MPH when it felt like the transmission was slipping and I lost power and coasted the truck to the side of the road. COMPONENT: Engine (6.2L V8, RPO L87) — connecting rod/crankshaft failure consistent with Safety Recall N252494001 (NHTSA Recall 25V-274). The vehicle is available for inspection. It is currently at Cable Dahmer Chevrolet, where it was towed on July 13, 2026, and remains inoperable. SAFETY RISK: The engine seized during operation, causing sudden and complete loss of propulsion in traffic. This is the exact failure mode identified in Recall 25V-274 as increasing the risk of a crash. CRITICAL DETAIL: This vehicle previously underwent inspection under Safety Recall N252494001 and PASSED on Feb 3rd 2026 at VAN Chevrolet in Kansas City. GM deemed the engine non-defective and issued extended warranty coverage of 10 years/150,000 miles under the associated special coverage program. Despite passing GM's recall inspection, the engine suffered catastrophic failure. This appears directly relevant to NHTSA's open recall query regarding the effectiveness of GM's recall remedy. DEALER CONFIRMATION: A technician at Cable Dahmer Chevrolet has verbally confirmed the engine is locked up/seized. Formal diagnosis is pending master technician sign-off and submission to GM, expected the week of July 20, 2026. The manufacturer has not yet inspected the vehicle. WARNING SIGNS: No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the failure. The engine failed without warning

NHTSA complaints are reports submitted by vehicle owners and other consumers. Complaint counts do not represent the percentage of vehicles affected and do not by themselves establish that a safety defect exists.

A higher complaint count can partly reflect how many vehicles were sold, vehicle age, and other factors. CarIQ does not yet normalize complaint counts by vehicles sold.

OFFICIAL NHTSA MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION DATA

MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATIONS

TOTAL COMMUNICATIONS0

No NHTSA manufacturer communication records were returned for this year, make, and model.

Manufacturer communications include service bulletins and other technical information submitted by manufacturers to NHTSA. The existence or number of communications does not establish how often a condition occurs or whether an individual vehicle will experience it.

Some manufacturers may issue more detailed service documentation than others, so communication counts should not be used alone to compare vehicle reliability.

TOTAL INVESTIGATION RECORDS0

No applicable NHTSA defect investigation records were returned for this year, make, and model.

NHTSA investigations evaluate potential motor-vehicle safety defects. The existence of an investigation does not by itself establish that a safety defect exists, and the absence of an investigation does not establish that a vehicle is problem-free.

Open and closed describe NHTSA's process status, not a CarIQ reliability judgment.
